Kelley Pearson School Board Member

My EXPERIENCE relevant to the School Board includes 27 years as a high school administrator here in Culpeper.  As do all educators, I remain committed to continuous improvement and growth.

I am QUALIFIED for the School Board due to my wide range of knowledge in academics and instruction, school safety and security, and student support services — including such things as mental health services, student wellness, social behavior and connections, and disciplinary procedures.  I also have years of experience with recruitment and retention of personnel and planning for future growth.

I am an INDEPENDENT candidate for the School Board.  I am not affiliated with or funded by any political party.  I sincerely believe politics do not belong in education, and I am proud of the fact that my students, colleagues, parents, and community members do not associate me with any political party.  Instead, people associate me with consistently working in the best interests of their students, their schools, and the Culpeper community.

For 27 years, the students, parents, teachers, staff, and Culpeper community members have trusted me with their high school students. They rely on me as a resource, seek me as an advocate, and look to me as a supporter.  I solve problems and resolve situations by listening carefully — while considering all points of view — and then building consensus around the solutions. Confidentiality is always maintained.

You can be assured I will bring all of my 31 years’ experience, service, and trust as a public school educator to the table as your independent representative on the CCPS School Board.
